My New American Girl Short Story
I had a lot of fun writing THE UN-SURPRISE PARTY for the latest issue of American Girl Magazine. But then again, I always have fun writing for them. It's a wonderful magazine for girls!
Hey there, Linda! I think I have 6 stories with American Girl now. They first published an AGNES excerpt as a short story before that book was even sold. They gave me my first glimmer of publishing hope, and they are a joy to work with.
As for AVIARY, it's coming out in September. I suggested that my agent wear a sandwich board with the cover to ALA, but she wasn't into it. I guess agents don't do that for some reason?
I write for girls. My books include AGNES PARKER...GIRL IN PROGRESS, AGNES PARKER...HAPPY CAMPER, AGNES PARKER...KEEPING COOL IN MIDDLE SCHOOL, OPHIE OUT OF OZ and BAD TICKETS.
I'm excited about the latest book for Knopf: THE AVIARY. It's a historical novel with elements of fantasy. (Ghosts! Enchanted birds!) It was very fun to write...
Heartfelt congratulations!
ReplyDeleteNow, how many (and titles, please) AM GIRL stories have you written now?
And an update on THE AVAIRY, if you please!
